Hi, PHT has this nice feature where you can land on a season of a series and hit the C and select "shuffle" or continuous play. It will then play all episodes of the series. This is ideal when my kids are watching series of short episodes. However, on iOS this doesn't seem possible, requiring me to intervene every 5 minutes when my 2 yr old is watching a series on a iOS device. When I click on a series it will automatically drill one level down until I hit single episodes. I *can* point and hold on a season, but this will bring up a type of context menu that only contains "Information" and "Sync". It should be relatively easy to add "Continuous play" and "Shuffle" to that menu, mimicking the behavior on PHT. That would make life so much simpler for all us desperate parents out there. This function is on the Samsung TV by hitting the red button once playing an episode. Which is great for kids programmes which are only 5-10 minutes long. On the ipad I can’t find this setting. I also know that on the roku client you can do this, by changing a setting in the ‘settings’ menu.
Bumping this: is continuous play for iOS devices on the roadmap? Either as a "context menu" (press and hold) option just like in PHT, where you can select "shuffle"/"continuous play" or as a permanent setting in the settings menu? Would be extremely useful for all the parents out there! Would love to hear whether there are any plans to implement, especially for iPads in the backseat of the car this would be very useful to have a more or less silent road trip with little critters :-)
By looking at the way that continuous play was mercilessly ripped out of PHT I would say that it look like at the moment the vision for the future of Plex across all of the clients are to be single play environments. I think that this is unfortunately sad and a feature that is greatly missed at my household daily. With Kids shows some who only last 5 minutes being able to play an entire season was very helpful. I know there are several requests for playlists, and hopefully with that we will get a unified continuous play but I don't think that is in the near future.
Uhm, I still have continuous play on PHT, latest client on both Lubuntu and on Windows (1.06 from the top of my head). Just hit the C, and you get a context menu allowing you to either shuffle or play continuously. Or is there an even newer version that I missed?
Oh, I didn't realize that, I had always hit play on my remote to continuously play anything that I was at so if I was at the season level it would play the season, if I was at the show level it would play the show, I will need to try this when I get home to see how well it'll work thanks.
