Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to and error

Server Version#: 8.13
Player Version#: Apple TV app

I had Plex Tv Premium for a few years ago and it worked fine. I have not used it for 2-3 years now but wanted to start agian so I sat up a library from my Macbook and stream from that one. All MP4 works fine but all MKV get error now “Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to and error”

This never happened before. The wifi is good and the Macbook is new. All versions and app is updated?

What is wrong. Just irritating and make me thinking if I should get a mediabox instead.

If possible, please provide server log files that capture the problem.
Someone familiar with running Plex on a Mac should be able to assist.

  1. Configure your server for debug level logs (the default)
    Settings → Server_Name → General + Show Advanced

  2. Restart the Macbook.

  3. After starting Plex Media Server, wait 3 minutes for it to fully start & logs to capture the startup sequence.

  4. Recreate the problem playing MKV files.

  5. Wait 1 minute for the server to log everything.

  6. Pull the log files and upload the full ZIP file to the thread
    Settings → Troublshooting
