So I recently got my Plex server running on a headless Debian Linux box. So where is Plex storing the image files for the cover art? My movies are stored at /home/username/Videos/Movies-Secure.
They are stored in the hashed folders in the application support folder which is defaulted to:
$PLEX_HOME/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server
echoing $PLEX_HOME yields nothing.
Without you providing the operating system you are using, I used the variable name instead of trying to guess what it actually translates to.
Where is the cover art stored on a Windows 10 machine? I have managed to restore my database, but I need to know where to pull the artwork from my backup.
Thanks

According to the support article it would be here:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Metadata
I had to paste that into an actual file explorer window, other wise it is C:\users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Metadata
That didn’t seem to work.
Sorry, the tags took out the part where you insert your user name. If you’re browsing there the folders are typically hidden once you get to your username and will normally need you to show hidden folders before you can proceed deeper.
I have that option set so that I can see hidden files. I restored the Plex Media Server\Metadata folder, but the cover art didn’t get restored. I see the rectangular “blank” where they used to be when editing the movie entry, but the artwork isn’t there. Very frustrating.
