Went back to 1.6.1…does not work if you are on transcode or remux…but on .ts it works perfectly…will stay here until Plex confirms they have fixed the issue. I would suggest others with this issue do the same .
Of course I say that and then now all of a sudden with the latest version of Plex Media server 1.7.2.3878 I have the problem again. I had been using an older version of PMS because it kept telling me it was the latest version which it wasn’t. It may very well be related the container as this version seems to automatically change the container to mkv and not allow it to stay .ts. In the previous versions it was obviously possible to choose whether or not to remux. All of these bad recordings over the past couple of days are .mkv files. I too will have to switch back to 1.6.1 until either the bug is fixed or at the very least the setting is restored the way it was.
Does this work correctly for anyone? I haven’t tried yet, so I don’t know if I’ll have problems with it.
If it’s a problem across the board, I’m wondering if/when we’ll hear from Plex about it.

I don’t think its an issue for everyone…for a week it wasn’t an issue for me…but if you want to make sure it works i would stick with 1.6.1 and .ts…there is no live tv with that version though
Anyone try the new 1.7.4 release who previously had this problem?
Wish plex would confirm so we could tell when issue was fixed
I was having similar issues after going to 1.7.x. Most (but not all) recordings would get corrupted and then usually quit playing. I had a couple shows that stalled while recording which I think then caused later scheduled recordings to not record, the only way to fix the stalled show was to restart the server. I also had several recordings that should have been 1 hour long, but Plex was reporting that they were 15-20 hours long (even though they didn’t appear to be…the file sizes were small and I could watch for, at best, a couple minutes and then they would get all messy and quit playing). Overall, whatever changes they made in the way recordings were dealt in server version 1.7.x didn’t work for me…I downgraded to 1.6.x and all is well again.

Yes same…was hoping this new update from yesterday would sort out the problem
