Differences between a RPi and an Android phone to cast to?

I sold my last pi 2 years ago (I know I shouldn’t have :joy:) and now I would like to use a phone, plugged with mini jack in my hi-fi.

I could cast from my daily phone to the Plexamp dedicated plugged phone, but with this uses, what would be the differences between this solution and using a pi?

Pi is bit-perfect, Android is limited to 48kHz, but that doesn’t really matter practically. Pi will be able to be a multi-zone node, Android won’t.
