Different audio format from direct play vs casting?

Server Version#: Version 1.32.6.7468
Player Version#:

TLDR: I’m getting STEREO PCM audio format when playing content from Plex installed in the Chromecast with Google TV directly, but if I cast from my phone I get Dolby Digital Plus

Equipment

  • LG TV 70UH6350
    • Sound out configured:
      • Audio Out (HDMI/ARC)
      • Digital sound Out: Auto (the other option is PCM)
      • SIMPLILINK: ON
  • Chromecast with Google TV
    • Audio configured:
      • Auto detect audio output
      • When plugged in to the TV, it says that Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Atmos with Dolby Digital Plus are Unsupported formats
      • When plugged in to Soundbar, it says all formats are supported
  • Soundbar Samsung Q900C

My tests

Playing a TRUEHD video via Plex:

  • Casting from my phone to:
    • Chromecast plugged in to TV: Dolby Digital
    • Chromecast plugged in to soundbar: Dolby Digital Plus
  • Playing directly from the Plex app:
    • Chromecast plugged in to TV: stereo pcm
    • Chromecast plugged in to soundbar: stereo pcm

When playing directly on the plex app I can see that it’s playing in “Play Original Quality”

Any idea what might be going on?

Do you have passthrough via HDMI enabled in the app?

Thank you for the quick reply.
I didn’t have it enabled. I enabled it now, killed the app and started it again and I still see Stereo Pcm as the format

Edit: OK, your comment was it. I unplugged the power of the chromecast to fully shut it off, turned it back on, and now Plex streams in Dolby Atmos, thank you!
