Disable transcoding on a per library basis. Or Disable 4k transcoding.

A majority of clients that can play 4k will transcode the files for playback. This maxes out my server. I would like the ability to disable transcoding on per library basis to allow only those who have the required hardware to playback 4k in its native format. I have 1080p copies of all my 4k content in a different library so if a user needs to they can watch a transcoded 1080p copy.

Currently my only work around is to have two plex servers, one just for 4k where I can disable transcoding globally.

just put your 4k content into a separate library, dont share it with remote users…

I’d like to see a option to enable hardware decoding, with software encoding… so get the quality of software encoding and still allow high bitrate HEVC masters.

Your suggestion does not address my issue. I want to share 4k content with remote users without maxing out my server. And as to your request, I am not a dev so please don’t request things in my thread.
