It would be great to have the ability to create a smart playlist, for example, sorted by watched date ascending, but all entries in the playlist are limited to X episodes of the same show in a row (it can be repeated the show after that, but not in a row).
So for example, I create a playlist with The Simpsons, Family Guy, The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men.
Example of playlist episodes result after I filter the limit to 2 episodes of each show (so i.e. if I have plenty of episodes of The Simpsons, it will not show more than 2 one after the other):
Thanks for your suggestion. There’s already an existing suggestion discussing Afro Plex to support applying the Limit to filter option to individual filter criteria groups. With such a feature you could also achieve what you’re looking for (having a smart collection of episodes by a number of shows, where each show is a single criteria it’s own filter group and each filter group limited to X items).
Therefore, please comment in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes (or here: joining forces, addressing 2 use cases with the same solution). Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.
I guess it could be similar. I think it would be like another filter field: Limit same TV show repeat: 2 (so the list would be the original, but randomized if I put that sort, and also, a show cannot repeat more than 2 times in the playlist, it should be another show episode in the middle in order to appear the first show).
I am not sure enough to say they are the same. But if you see it this way, close this thread and I have no problem to vote to the other.
