When playing movies with Netflix on my Roku I can press the * (star, asterisk) button on my remote and in the upper-left corner I can display the throughput and quality of what I’m watching. This is really helpful when testing higher quality videos and debugging my network. Does this same functionality exist on the web and Android clients? If so, how do I enable this?
Thanks!
p.s. I’m sorry if this has been asked previously. Searching for this on the forums has not shown me anything and I couldn’t locate anything in the docs, FAQ and with a Google search. Debug seems to go to logs (not helpful on an Android device) and doesn’t give me the real-time (i.e. while viewing) stats.
The only Plex client I know of where something like this exists is Plex Media Player.
The rest of the clients must be monitored via NowPlaying (limited), server logs or PlexPy
I just went through all my settings on my Android app (v6.1.1.656) and I can’t seem to locate this. This may be exactly what I’m looking for, but I can’t find it. Any chance you can point out where this is?

When you play a video, click the gear icon to get to the playback settings. The information overlay option is the last one.
I just checked and it looks like it has some great information, but I don’t see network utilization nor current resolution (assuming transcoding is ongoing).
Here’s an example I found from a picture on the internet:
But that’s not exactly what I see on my Roku. I get network throughput (mbps) along with the current resolution. Really good stuff when debugging my home network.
Current resolution is “Size: 424 x 316”. The Android Plex client only shows the player, video and audio transcode status, the size, and a reason for the transcode. There are no other options for the client overlay.
