Displaying ratings with movie list/posters

Is it possible to display the rating of movies (ratings from trakt.tv for example) when viewing the movie list/posters from a browser. I use chrome brower to access/use plex because the actual windows plex client does not support a mouse.

There is a filter to sort by rating but this filter is not useful when you can’t see the rating with the movie posters. It would be really awesome to view ratings while browsing through the movie posters/lists as it gives you a good idea of how good movies are without having to click on the posters to view the movie details to get the actual rating.

I’ve seen this feature in Kodi.

I’m a developer. If this is not available what can I do to make it available in Plex by developing something? Would there be any help or resources available from Plex that helps people create third party plugins for example?

Thanks

The ‘stars’ are an approximation of the rating. 5 stars = 100% = 10/10 points
Set the library view mode to ‘All’ and the sort order to ‘by rating’

Any way to have the stars without sorting by rating?

Unfortunately not.

Unfortunately there are some problems with this workaround.

First, the star ratings are a very rough approximation of the finer-grained percentages or “out of ten” scores that they are based on. I have page after page of “4-star” movies with nothing to distinguish between them.

Second, I don’t really want to view the “best” movies – often I want to go through the list in date order (date added or date released) and see ratings at the same time.

So I’d love to see just a bit more information at the same time in the movie / show grid. Just one more line of information would allow Plex (Web, iOS, …) to show important information such as percentage ratings, durations and release years at the same time.

Even without another line, the default iOS view (for example) has space for more information – now the second line only shows the year, when it could actually also show a percentage rating without being cluttered. I’d love to see that in a future version!
