Does scrobbling work with PlexAmp or PMP?

I’m wondering if scrobbling (after you connect your Plex account to last.fm account) works with PMP and PlexAmp, or if it only works with the web ui.

Scrobbling works with all (real) Plex clients, as long as they are signed into your plex.tv account.

(With “real” Plex client I mean that generic DLNA clients are not supported.)

So PlexAmp would scrobble?

Definitely. I use it a lot and I see the scrobbles in my last.fm account.

I even see what I played yesterday when I was in a car and I had music synced to my phone.

Ok, thanks!

I just tried it with PlexAmp but it’s not working.

EDIT: Turns out it only shows as scrobbled after you listen to the track, not while you’re currently listening.

That is as intended and according to the rules of last.fm

What’s this rule? All my other last.fm clients scrobble as they play, and the official last.fm client scrobbles at 50% playback on Android.

Ah, no, that makes sense. I thought @aaronth07 was talking about https://www.last.fm/api/show/track.updateNowPlaying, which is where the client can update your last.fm profile live with what you are currently listening to. Plex doesn’t currently do that AFAIK.

That is what I was talking about.
