I am brand-new to this forum, so forgive my naiveté. I am currently running Plex Media Server on a mini-PC using Windows 11 Pro. I want to migrate Plex to my NAS server running TrueNAS Scale 25.10. I noticed the TrueNAS app catalog has Plex version 1.2.16. Can anyone tell me if this is the docker version for Plex under TrueNAS or if it is the actual version of the Plex Media Server?
If it is the latter, there is no use in me moving Plex from my Windows PC to TrueNAS. Just need to confirm before I go further.
That’s the version of the Truenas Plex app and is determined by their developers. They make changes to their container from time to time and it tracked by the “app version.”
This is separate of the Plex Media Server version being deployed. If you’re on the stable train, they’re currently on PMS version 1.42.2.10156-f737b826c as can be seen here:
That is the current stable version, per:
There are newer beta versions, but you might want to stick with the stable track unless you’re willing to test for and report bugs/regressions.
