On #1, yes, to have shows grouped into the Show/seasons. Right now, I have downloaded 6 movies and abnout 20 episodes from two differnt shows. When I go to the new âDownloadsâ section of the app, it just shows the 6 movies and 20 episodes all jumbled together. Unorganized. Would be nice if the TV shows were grouped into their Show name, then you could click on that âfolderâ to see the episodes within.
Basically the downloads section should âmimicâ the TV Shows tab⊠clean and organized by show
I think Iâve found a workaround for #1, but Iâve done minimal testing so proceed with caution.
If you download the entire season, it groups the episodes. I need to download episodes individually due to my serverâs bandwidth. After downloading all episodes individually, download the season and it appears clever enough to use the already downloaded individual episodes. It leaves the individual episodes in the downloads folder, but you can delete those without affecting the downloaded season folder.
Edit: Sorry, just realised this was for phones. Iâm using the Windows app.
In the updated iPad and iPhone app for Plex, you can only sort all the episodes. You no longer have any series/season grouping as in the usual library views.
+1 to request this be fixed. Hopefully restoring the group/sort by series for episodes will come with the âdownload entire seasonâ update, but if not then it should be prioritized!
This would be amazing. Or, ideally, even just the ability to browse a library when in offline mode and watch shows which are downloaded. Finding the things I want is exhausting.
Completely agree, while a lot has improved the downloads section has become very hard to manage now. It should ideally have a similar interface with artwork and info to the main plex servers.
Basics missing for me that was extremely useful from the old version
Grouping by show and season (not an enormous list like now)
Syncing based on criteria (like â last X unwatchedâ)
Auto Cleaning up of shows that have been watched
The actual downloading of the files is more consistent for me, but it is missing really useful features from the old version which was really important to me. Makes it a bit meh because of it
100%, I primarily use these download features and having to self manage them is an absolute pain. Having to manually swipe away all watched episodes individually to regain storage and manually download individual episodes is not what I signed up for when I bought Lifetime PlexPass.
The ability to set and forget âDownload next 5 unwatched episodes and delete watched on next refreshâ was what I wanted to pay the money for, and I feel screwed over that this was scrapped as soon as I purchased it.
Putting things in folders/grouping episodes together shouldâve been a day one fix. I canât use this trash and every update I see if itâs been fixed. And still nothing. I had to use sideloader to load an older version of the app. They rushed this app out. I wouldnât even call it a beta. Clearly nobody at plex uses plex.
+1 vote from me for these features. Everything about the downloads section is currently extremely frustrating and not what I paid for.
I have another request also that is equally important for me:
Rather than hiding the âDownloadsâ folder in a sub menu of the iOS app, Why canât we add access to it from our âFavourite Librariesâ menu?
Or in the âHome tabâ, We should be able to scroll across/down to it without having to navigate to it in a boring/bland sub menu along with the settings etc.
The fact that they have buried the downloads menu in amongst the Settings, Services, Profile tabs says that it is not part of the main experience straight away. I find this very telling as to what their priorities are and it does not seem to be personal media libraries as it once was unfortunately.
