so there was a dependency problem installing directly the update ... installing the ipk manually worked, but stil do not get the subtitle convertion done :-(

if there is no option with twice yellow there are only two possibilities. first of all the subs streams is not active yet. subs streams appears only when the first sub text has to be displayed. this could be very late at all in movie ;-)
second option is, that the box is not able to read the subtitle file. there are a lot of standards and engima is not known as the best plattform for different subs standards. external srt file works most of the time. but sometimes there might be something we the encoding.
to be clear if it is dreamplex or something else causing the error do the following.
start the movie over the internal media player of your box. before that rename your srt and put it into the same directory as the movie is. if everything is fine and the subs are shown with twice yellow it is dreamplex. if not than it is the image itself, the sub file, or somehting complety different like permission for the files.

if I put the SRT file in the directory, I can read it with yelow yelow ....
that is what I'm currently doing .... a linux script which is automatically copying all my eng.srt into srt so that I can read the movie with subtitle.
But with this solution I cannot choose the language.
But with dreamplex I'm also not seeing an srt file beeing created ? shall I ?
this is not needed.
just select the language you want. no need that the plex server knows that there will be a new srt file with no language ending.
because dreamplex searches for it own for the srt and copies it just in time before movie starts. after the movie stops the temp srt is deleted again.
I was doing this as a workaround .... but this is exactly what I'm doing, selecting the file with text ..... starting the movie but no srt created .... and nothing to be seen in yellow yellow nor in the folder while playing the movie.
Will perhaps try a clean reinstall
just do what you did again and send me the dreamplex logfile. i can have look. maybe there is a bug. we will catch it down for sure :-)

Subtitles still doesn't work ....
you have to write "en" for language in settings. not only "e".
the GUI doesn't allow to add a letter .... I accidently delete one, and now cannot add. can you tell me where the config file is, so that I can perhaps change it directly ?
i will push a new beta soon where this behavior is fixed :-)
