I record the news which starts at 4am locally and the program is 5 hours long. The news program is shown as it should be recording in the guide. It only records when I open the news program and it starts from the time I open it and records the rest of the news. Every other program that I record works correctly. My guess is that the length of the recording may be the issue but it is just a guess. It has been happening for at least a year or two. Any thoughts or assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

I’ve never had issues with long recordings. I’ll try to record a weather channel that broadcasts for 8 hours and see if it has issues tonight. But I’ve recorded football games where I have the stop time set for a hour after it “ends” and haven’t had any issues and thats about a 4.5 hour recording.
When you look at dvr schedule does it show there with any error messages?
Also it wont show up in your library until after the recording finishes, so if you’re looking for it there it wont show until it completes.
Thank you for the reply. Now that you mention it, I have also recorded football games etc and didn’t have an issue with those of a similar length.
The show appears in the schedule, there are no error messages or other constraints I can see. I deleted and have rescheduled the show and will see what happens when it is next broadcast on Monday.
This issue persisted for quite some time, I had deleted and recreated the recording a few different times. This time, I deleted and recreated the recording and changed the setting to record new and repeat airings instead of new only, and it records as scheduled now.
