There’s already some existing suggestion threads discussing options to include the described effects (pan/zoom, ken burns…) and to include background music to a slideshow. I suggest you comment/vote in those threads in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.

I like almost every aspect of Plex, but the Photo Slideshow is really miserable. Please add ken burns with transitions and music.

Fade Music from Playlist in and out during Photo Slideshow
Pardon me for starting here . . . For comparison, iTunes (which I dislike) can perform slideshows with music set to run in the background, whereas Plex, I believe cannot.
