So weird thing, some updates ago, my shared users names have been truncated with randomised numbers… ie: user afalcon now displays as afalco5 … and i am unable to edit the name or view the email address.
Does anyone know of a way i can edit my user names please??

Only these users themselves can edit their user names.
Basically let them go to plex.tv, sign in with each their own credentials, then go to https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/account and let them set a “Full Name”.
You got that wrong. These users didn’t have user names. They had only email addresses. In order to protect their identity a bit better, they all got assigned user names automatically.

I posted a similar question here (funny how it seems so hard to find the posts you have done) but it was a question, not a feature request. I guess I just assumed there’s gotta be a way to do this and I just didn’t know how. Seems like basic functionality o me.
Not only should Plex allow you to alias your friends with names so you can remember them, but Tautulli should also take that from PMS instead of having to reinvent the wheel themselves.
Don’t think this will be implemented any time soon though. 'Tis a shame.
