Enabling Plex Logs to be sent to Syslog for Graylog

I originally posted this on Reddit, but didn’t really get the help I felt took me in the right direction, so I’m going to re-post here.

I have a Plex running as a Jail via FreeNAS’s plugins. I’m currently on a Graylog high and I want to log all the things. I do not have anything that I need to troubleshoot in Plex, I just want to geek-out.

I believe I’ve correctly configured the Preferences.xml file per the Docs to enable logs to be sent to syslog by adding PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_USE_SYSLOG="true". Is that the correct method?

I’m currently not seeing logs posting to /var/log under syslog or rsyslog. I do see a ppp.log that was last touched on Oct 10, 2018 when I initially created the jail with Plex with a similar message Oct 20 08:48:15 freenas newsyslog[1888]: logfile first created.

I am getting all my syslogs from FreeNAS posted to Graylog, no issues there. Any help would be awesome.
