Enhanced or Deluxe Photos support

Photos is one of the lessor used gems of plex. especially on big TV Screens

the various photo platforms do either a mixed job or offer no support at all ( I am looking at you , OneDrive !)

Google photos isnt even available on google TV !!!

what is missing is some light photo editing/tag management

The ability to crop/rotate photos - rotate cell phone videos and the ability to add and edit tags will greatly enhance the experience

This could even be a add on feature available for a moderate cost to existing plex pass subscribers

Photos Utilities // mod: rotate, crop, contrast, saturation, basic sharing

I’m a lifetime passholder who recently started using the camera upload, which I like because I’ve never had success mixing my iPhone phone with my Window’s computer, including iCloud. What I am looking for is writing / editing embedded tags, IPTC or the like

That way you could use the photos in another application or share them with the appropriate tag info. Ideally the Plex meta data would match the embedded tags

Plex doesn’t manipulate your media files. That’s been a core premise of using PMS from the very early days.

There’s an existing suggestion asking for an option to write metadata / tags back to the files where you could vote in order not to cannibalize votes… but then again, Plex have stated many times they have no intention to change their stance on not manipulating original media files…

[Feature Request] Metadata Write Back

I would like to see an optional item in libraries to write metadata changes back to the original media files. For my use case in particular my primary interest would be in ID3 tags for MP3 files and iTunes style tags for MP4 files. I have spent quite a bit of time properly tagging my media files and those tags are what allowed Plex to quickly make sense of my collection. As for „matching the metadata embedded in photos“… there’s an existing suggestion to allow Plex to use the embedded metadata already available within a photo (similar to how Plex can be configured to use embedded metadata from certain audio / video files).
