Plex has the awesome benefit of allowing you to share libraries with your friends. Currently, you can only pick what libraries you want to share with them, and whether or not they can cloud sync. I would like to see these options expand a bit, to include:
Quality Limiting. Currently, Quality can only be changed client side, allowing anyone to grab anything at any quality they want as long as your library is shared. I would love to see a "Remote Quality/Local Quality Limit" drop down boxes for each user on the share page.
Priority. Currently, everyone gets treated equal, even you. I would love to see some priority options where maybe you can set a global bandwidth amount or max amount of simultaneous streams, and then set priority to your shared users, so dear old mom gets priority over your ex-roommate.
Activity Logging. Under Activity, you can currently see who is watching what, but thats about the extent to your server monitoring without getting gritty. I would love to see a "Logs" tab there, with sub tabs for each user that keep 24 hours or so of their activity to your server. What that started, what they stopped, etc. This would make debugging a hell of a lot easier when all you get is "I watched that one episode of that show with that guy in it your Dad likes and it wasn't in english."
Data Usage caps. I would also love to see a box where you can type in a number, followed by a drop down box with MB/GB/TB, followed by a drop down box with Day/Week/Month under each user. So I can say, type 10, pick GB, pick week, and now that user is limited to 10GB per week.
Recommending Shared Media. Currently, you can only recommend stuff in your queue. How about letting us be able to recommend stuff in our collection, provided the person we are recommending it to has access to it via a server share?
Automatically Select Audio Tracks. Currently this option is only available globally, Audio Track options and subtitle options per user would be nice.
Have anymore ideas on how the Sharing/friends system can be expanded? Lets hear them!
