And then I did a complete refresh via the 'More\Complete Refresh' control.
What else do you have to do to get the fanart.tv add-in to be used when you rescan your library?
Those settings look correct, but I can't replicate the issue... Can you check the log file (com.plexapp.agents.fanarttv.log) just after you did a refresh? Maybe there's something in there that gives us a hint of something going wrong.
Hi sander1. Were you able to take a look at the log I posted?
The log doesn't show anything going wrong, it shows that some artwork is being downloaded without errors. Can you check on fanart.tv if there is artwork for the artist(s) at all?
The music artists are all standard stuff - David Bowie, Rolling Stones, U2, etc.
When I go into the [Change Poster] or [Change Background] options when editing an Artist the dialog box that appears doesn't find any art work either? Is this a part of the problem? I'm sure it used to when I first installed Plex a few months ago.
I have just found that if I edit a Music Artist, and choose to 'Fix Incorrect Match', then choose 'Last.FM' as the 'Search Using' option (there is only Last.FM & Personal Media Artists listed) then it finds a match and artwork and other meta data become available every time. But I can't do this manually for over 2500 Artists! I have tried a Force Refresh a few times and this has no effect on the displayed meta data.
So is there any other way to force a re-match of all the meta data across my music collection?
I'm having issues with the plugin as well... Granted, I've only tried a couple films, but they all have images on fanart.tv. In particular, The Wizard of Oz. There is only one poster listed kn the site, and I never get it in Plex. Agent is enabled, and I even tried dragging it up to the top of the agent list on freebase and themoviedb. I tried a force refresh and the art still never showed.

For movies the Fanart.tv agent grabs background images only. Posters usually come from The Movie Database or MoviePosterDB. I'll see if I can add posters to Fanart.tv agent as well!
Edit: I've updated the agent to make it grab posters for movies as well. The updated agent will be downloaded automatically by your Plex Media Server.
Currently this agent grabs backdrops and banners only. I'll see if I can add season posters as well, shouldn't be that hard with their API.
It turns out that the API is returning the season posters, but that the season information is missing (so I don't know which poster belongs to which season). I've posted on their forums and asked for this information to be added.
I got a reply and the issue with the season info missing has been fixed. I've updated the agent once more to make it grab season posters as well (if they're available for a series). The updated agent has been pushed out through the Channel Directory, your PMS will download the update automatically.

thanks its working now, but it isn't pulling down the preview of the season poster.

i have the exact same issue. is there a fix coming? thanks!
the agent is no longer pulling movie posters for me. If I disable the agent, posters are being fetched just fine by other agents. As long as I have the fanart agent enabled however, I do not get any posters at all anymore. Going for maybe 2-3 days now. Maybe a glitch in the last update?

Yikes! There was indeed a bug in the latest version of the code! I've fixed this and released an update. Your Plex Media Server will pick up and download the update shortly. Thanks for the report!
