[Feature] Option to play 3D movies in 2D

I am starting to build quite a collection of 3D movies after aquiring my LG 3D TV earlier this year.  Unfortunately I have other televisions in the house, and none of them support 3D video.

My LG TV has the option to downscale 3D movies to 2D which is great when I want to watch a movie that I have in 3D, but I don't want to watch it in 3D with the glasses.  I would love to see a similar option in Plex.  The feature would function similar to the subtitles/audio track options.  Not only can you pick the subtitles and audio track, but if the movie is encoded in half-sbs or half-ou, you could also select 2D/3D.  This would make it possible to play my 3D movies in 2D to any TVs in the house (or on my mobile device).

I realize I could re-rip all my 3D movies to a duplicate 2D movie, but that seems like a large waste of space (as my 3D movie library is starting to pass 500 gigs), as well as defeating the sole purpose of Plex (being able to re-encode any video to any device).

A request for the same feature exists now, and it has gathered more votes than this one.

Therefore this one is closed.
