In my case the real target is not content filtering…
I like to have a different “on desk” in all my rooms, watched history etc…
But if I start to watch a particular season in my sofa and I want to continue in my bed I have to switch multiple times between users… In fact I have to remember witch account have started a TV show to always use this one in all my rooms
I never use admin account for plex use only for admin ![]()
In fact my accounts are rooms
Well, obviously plex users are intentionally designed to keep watched and other things separate.
I am really confused, because if your shows were synced up, then all your 'room’s would have the same ‘on desk’, and that would be against your stated purpose.
Not sure what or why you want this, because it obviously makes things confusing and complicated for you.
But the reality is, plex users are intentionally designed to keep watched/history separated, and with only 2 votes (currently) on an extremely esoteric use case, unfortunately I don’t see it happening any time soon. (so I suggested the work around above)
especially when there are feature requests with hundreds or thousands of votes that are still not implemented.
(I obviously have no control over what plex does or doesn’t do)
Yes only 2 votes but for now
Let me hope (or dream) !
I’ve stated that the watched status was a boolean
If the watched status is a date or null effectively updating watched status will impact my On desk and then why have 2 different accounts ! You’re right…
May be by pulling a date before the “weeks to consider…” in server parameter
@TeknoJunky
I took a look to database and yes watched status is by date so you’re right, it can’t work like I want
I think there’s another way to match my purpose, since now we have played history in Plex
Have a global account like you suggested and, with UNO UI, 2 new hubs that I can pin to the home screen:
- last played with this device
- on deck for this device
It will be perfect !
