I’d like to request that there be an option added to the Android TV app similar to the regular Android app where we can manually set the maximum h.264 level for the device. I ask because I’ve found the Nexus player, while it can play level 5.1 h.264 video streams with direct play set to forced without noticeable issues, that also causes the app not to transcode DTS audio and result in a video without sound or it’ll default to a compatible audio track that’s not the main track.
Running Kodi with the plugin has been a workaround (it even handles the DTS audio without issue), however I’d prefer to use the Plex Android TV app without putting extra strain on the media server past transcoding audio tracks. I’ve tried to sideload the mobile app on the Nexus Player specifically to access this option, however that fails to install.
