Feature Request - Browse by language

Hello,

I have been using Plex for a few months now and I love it. I was wondering if it would be possible to add a feature to browse by language. The plex library is so large that it can sometimes be daunting to browse through it (which is a good thing, just wish there were more tools to help).

Thanks

I currently don’t have an Android device at hand…
There should hopefully be the same options to filter your library as they’re available on iOS.

Here’s how to filter the library by audio/subtitle languages on that client:

On Android, it’s the V shaped hamburger menu in the upper right corner

The only option I found to filter was in the playlist page. Even then, none of the options had to do with language. I don’t have an iOS device but my Android device doesn’t have the option at all.

It’s correct – there’s no such filter on the watchlist. Keep in mind the watchlist is based on generic listings of a movie/show, not specific files available in your library. There’s an existing suggestion discussion to expand the filter options for a watchlist (incl. a brief mention of language filters and others).

The filter I mentioned is available if you access your media in a local or shared library.

I see. I am trying to browse the free movies offered by Plex and filter them by language. Is there an option for doing so?

Not currently available – there’s another suggestion for that…

Sounds good, thanks :+1:

2023 clean-up:

  • implemented for local/shared libraries
  • for watchlist → existing suggestion (duplicate)
  • for Plex‘ video-on-demand content → existing suggestion (duplicate)
