Feature Request: Designate your own Plex server to manage transcode processing

I most often watch shared Plex streams on my iPad when I'm around the house/garden as opposed to in front of my TV via my Plex server.  At the moment, this means that the source Plex server has to bear the processing burden of transcoding the video/audio formats that my iPad doesn't understand.  Me as the viewer am then subject to the tolerances of the source server, depending on how many other streams it may be transcoding at that time.  However, as I have my own Plex server it would be great if I could specify in my iPad iOS Plex client app that my own Plex server would be the transcoding proxy.  As such, the shared content that I'd be watching on my iPad would be streamed raw from the source Plex server to my own Plex server, which would then transcode and re-stream it to my iPad.

I apologise if this has already been requested.  I did search and saw requests for the ability to distribute transcode processing, but with slightly different requirements when I examined the detail.

This may seem like a good idea in this one instance, but think about the general case.  At most times, the source server is not on the same network as the "near" server.  This means transporting the high-bandwidth source file over a slow link only to process it at the near end.

I am closing this. PM me if you disagree and give me your reasons and I will unlock this.

EDIT: Topic unlocked again under the assumption that the OP will make the first post very clear on how this differs to the other requests.
