Feature Request: Extend 'On Deck' to include Slideshows & Music AutoPlay // mod: continue listening

When one is going through a large slideshow - eg 2000 photos in a folder or by filter, it would be nice to have a mechanism for remembering which image one got to when interrupted for whatever reason and to be able to continue from that point onward later.

Similarly if listening to a large selection of music tracks - eg 100s of tracks for a specific selection criteria / criteria, it would be nice to be able to stop and continue later.

Similarly when listening to the soon to be provided (wishful thinking) playlist functionality.

The 'On Deck' facility would seem to be the ideal way of achieving that and have one deck for each type of media (Movies, TV-Series, Pictures and so on)

Allowing via PMS Settings admins to switch on/off the decks the do not want, as well as been able to select a combined "One OnDeck covers everything"

I would not expect this to be available when playback/slideshow is using the shuffle option (which I hope we will have soon ......)

EDIT: 30/08/2013 Incorporating dane22's input

Even though I do not use this very much, I actually understand what you are saying here.....but.....

I would humbly like to extend this a bit, cuz IMHO the OnDeck would be left useless to people if just going your way, when one person is watching pictures, since they switch every 5 sec. or so....

Extend the OnDeck functionality into one deck for each type of media (Movies, TV-Series, Pictures and so on)

Allow via prefs admins to switch on/off the decks they do not want, as well as been able to select a combined "One OnDeck covers everything"

Edit: Just adding OP's origen post, so I don't look like a complete idiot here, when been second in a thread, and the origen poster changes his post  :

you'll never look like a complete idiot, Tommy!

how about one on deck with radiobutton toggle (or, if not, at least make sure there is the ability to toggle them on/off in the dashboard settings, I presume -- oh, you suggested that ... I am a complete idiot! :D).

I know i wanted this feature badly some weeks back but my requirement has been satisfied for the time being by connecting a Roku to my Samsung and running the brilliant RARflixTest Plex Channel on it. ljunkie has given me soon after I asked the Pause All/Resume All button and I am a happy man. So Roku's and NowTV's everywhere and ljunikie's Plex for Roku channel : RARflixTest

With the Roku being independent of the TV it means i can swap sources, use smart hub, use tv without losing my position as the Roku is nicely Paused. In fact it is so resilient I could take my network down and bring it back and the Roku will continue from my paused position !

I adore Plex and have used for 20 years but have always felt audio is the little guy, and discriminated against.

Audio deserves to be seen/continued at the top level “Continue” menu.

This area should be “media agnostic”.

Yes!! “Continue Watching” top level is friendlier conceptually as “Continue Any Media within my library I’ve been playing”.

“Continue Playing” ?

And if audio books ever get supported, this is even more important for those.
