Feature Request: Fast User Switching Nicknames

Hi,

It would be really great if the ‘Fast User Switching’ interface allowed for nicknames for non-managed accounts.

Take for example our Plex Home, which has my account + a few managed users:

  • lostgoat (me)
  • Mom
  • Jessica ( kid 1 )
  • Rob ( kid 2 )
  • Grandma

Having ‘lostgoat’ in there feels very out of place. I wish I could change it to ‘Dad’ or to my name.

Something like steam where your ‘username’ and your ‘display name’ are two different fields would be great.

each of the (managed) users should be able to assign their own name via https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/account (Username).

Hi Tom,

I can see how my original post was a bit confusing. My wish is to be able to edit the names of a non-managed account.

In the example above, that would be making my main account (lostgoat) show up as Dad on the fast user switching UI.

Sorry for the confusion.
