[Feature Request] Follow the standard for last.fm scrobbling better

I’m talking about “when to scrobble”. The last.fm documentation states this: http://www.last.fm/api/scrobbling#when-is-a-scrobble-a-scrobble

Basically, it states that a track should scrobble if played over 50% (Plex has more like 80-90% from my testing) or if it has been played for longer than 4 minutes (I haven’t tested how Plex acts here). And it should not scrobble if it is under 30 seconds (I played a 57 second track and it did not scrobble, so this limit seems higher on Plex).

I’d like to say that it would be for the best to follow the standard exactly because I think all last.fm users are accustomed to this. And every other player/plugin out there does follow them (even Spotify). Also, personally I think it makes more sense that way, because a track can have a very long and annoying outro and as such 80-90% is too much. Same with the 30 sec limit. The 57 second track I played is a real song, and I should be able to scrobble it.

Thanks for the details. We are going to have a look at it and try to improve functionality. I’ll let you know when things have changed.

The last PP version should have better last.fm support

Thanks for informing about it!
