Coming from using Emby, one of the features I miss most is that Plex only scrapes/finds the minimum amount of artwork possible so leaves me needing to fetch additional artwork manually.
The artwork is available from Fanart TV and I think should be fetched with the other artwork to allow Clients of Plex to expand it’s presentation of the media.
Here’s a crappy mock up of what I think they should do with logos. I don’t think we need to support scraping but local files where I throw logo.png in the media folder and it looks like this is all I really ask for.
Yeah, as someone who came from Jellyfin I really miss this feature too. Most other media centers seem to have this feature, but for some reason Plex doesn’t. If they at least added the ability to set logos in place of the titles that would be enough for me. Many agents, such as The Movie Database and Fanart.tv already provide logos for most Movies and Shows.
Here is my crappy mockup of how would this look like:
Was just thinking of this exact same feature and came to find this thread. Would be really neat, especially being able to use scraped or custom clear logos as titles
It really look better this way. There’s a lot of streaming platform and other media server that already have implemented this type of look. Hope it gets added to Plex
I second this also. It was the best feature of Emby and for ages I have been running Emby alongside of Plex purely for this feature. The Discart and ClearLogo fan art was great and I would love to simply just run a single platform that does this.
Yep, they need to plex this up, it’s about time they caught up with the others and stop losing out to other providers that are way ahead in some of their features.
This has been sitting here for way to long (simple feature update, quick win) and makes me want to switch back if they aren’t prepared to improve.
