[Feature Request] Media Info on Dolby Vision Videos

Only thing I could think of is some silly licensing issue with the DV name but even then it could still just say HDR like it does for HDR10.

That’s the whole point of the feature request.
To distinguish in the clients if the file is HDR10, HDR10+ or Dolby Vision.
With the additional link in this thread of a similar request for the same with audio.
Nobody has even mentioned tone-mapping here.

I think we’re on the same page. You used the word “eschew” in a way that might have implied that an EL was superior to the single-layer formats. I was being pedantic too. I agree that the higher bitrates available on UHD BR are an advantage over most streaming media sources. Audio options, too! But the DV tech isn’t necessarily superior.

Its actively being discussed with a dev.
