Feature request: Notification / Chat

I share my media library with a few people, and sometimes I need to reboot the server that Plex is running off (upgrade the firmware or some other reason), and it would be handy to be able to send out a broadcast to the shares that the service will be out for a brief time.

The other direction is also handy - if they could notify me that the service is down.

Send server messages

It would be great as a PlexPass user to unlock a feature to send messages to the viewers. Information on planned maintenance (running every 20min or so) Restart information (one time message) and so on. This would be nice to have when you have a shared server. Vote on the poll, and maybe give a comment in suggestions to make this feature request better. Best regards Sleepwalker

But we have been waiting for over 7 years…

As a possible alternative you could look at Tautulli as that has some notification stuff in, but don’t know if it would suit your requirements.
