[Feature Request] - Plex Server - Custom Push message to added friends

I see that new content added generates push messages to all users with the Plex App on their mobile devices indicating what was added. I’d like to see an option for a custom message in the Plex Server console where the host can inform their friends of something they may need to know, perhaps with a character limit 160 or something.

Example:
[Server Downtime - the hard drive is failing so I’ll be taking the server down for a few hours on Friday morning] or [Server Maintenance Window: Monday 2am weekly. Expected downtime 1 hour]
[Due to the feedback of crippling depression after watching, I’m removing Game of Thrones Season 8]
[Adding several new holiday movies this Friday. Happy Holidays everyone!]

I’d imagine a profanity filter of some sort might be advised so as to not interfere with the TOS for Apple/Google push notifications, but I imagine this feature would be very appreciated by Plex Server hosts to prepare their friends for changes.

As an alternative to custom push notifications, another option to prevent abuse could be predefined messages to push out where it asks for input of date/time only and has options for -Downtime -Server Maintenance Window or the like. (Ideas for predefined push notifications welcome)

Thanks for your suggestion. There’s already an existing thread discussing an option to send/push messages to users, e.g. regarding maintenance, reboots or other aspects impacting the user experience. Please comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.
Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.

Oh beautiful, thank you! Yes that’s the same request. I tried searching to avoid reposts (and I love that term, cannibalizing votes). I hate to be that guy but I ended up there anyway. Thank you for catching that and closing this.
