First off big-seriousness thanks for all the work done on Plexamp.
In CarPlay when viewing the library it would be helpful to have a way to toggle the view type from list/grid view.

I donāt believe CarPlay allows this.
Ahh yeah you are right. I guess the issue I see is having to go into each character group, since the library is grouped by characters. If Iām looking for something to play I have to dip into the character section then back out then back in. What about mimicking the same way Apple does the album view?
How does apple do the album view?
Thatās image I posted above, but actually there is a view in between the Library and the Albums list. The first view is how you want to see the library (Categories). The categories are first, then the user can choose to see all by Album like in the image above or by Artistā¦etc. I can compile some images to show the path if needed.
We donāt have access to that ādot navigationā on the right last time I checked. Otherwise, lists are limited (and even moreso when driving) so I canāt see it being a good experience. Not sure what categories would be, like genres?
Really just a way to see the full list of Albums.
Oh I think I may see some confusion. Yeah in that image above I just happen to be in the āAā items has nothing to do with the dot nav on the right with the characters. The list in the image is a list of ALL the albums
For most people this wouldnāt work, CarPlay limits lists to something like 100 or fewer, and when driving ~15.
So Apple allows it in their app, but not in others? I have 400+ Albums and can scroll through the entire list. Even driving⦠yeah I know bad. Ok, thanks.
Some cars donāt have this ācripple lists while drivingā mode. Itās all super frustrating and mysterious.
Gotcha, yes indeed. Thanks
