[Feature Request] - PMS Web Client - List view with configurable attributes

Big fan! You guys are doing great work … keep it up.

I’ve recently switched to your solution after using a combination of Media Center Master and Media Browser for years. Your integration of multiple platforms and native apps for Apple TV is a killer solution.

The only one feature I miss from Media Center Master is the ability to review my movie library in a “list” view that allows me to quickly see a variety of different attributes of each movie. This could be used for a wide variety of administrative tasks (cleaning up the library when running out of drive space and trying to figure out which movies to delete, finding old movies with low resolutions so you can obtain higher resolution copies, etc.)

This kind of functionality is NOT required on the clients - it would only be required for a “library administrator” kind of role where routine maintenance is conducted on the library … hence my suggestion for including such a view in PMS web client only.

Try these tasks on the current solution -

  1. find all movies in your current library that have a resolution of 480p (so you can update library with newer copies at higher resolutions)
  2. Find all movies in your current library that are missing subtitles (so you can download and add subtitles)
  3. Find all movies in your current library that use the WMV codec (so you can transcode into something else)
  4. Find all movies in your current library that have a given content rating (so they can be deleted if trying to clean up the library for a different audience)
  5. Find all movies in your current library that have a low review/score (so they can be deleted and free up drive space)

This functionality is kind of available today (by simply using a combination of filters) but would be MUCH simpler if we had an interface that simply provided a view of the library in list mode with key/selected attributes visible along with a sort function.

This was one of the most useful features of Media Center Master, and the only one for which I cannot find an equivalent in Plex.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Until (if ever) this is implemented, you could make do with Plex2CSV

Early 2021 clean-up: implemented (all parameters but the codec are available as filter options, independent of the library view; there’s a dedicated suggestion to include filtering by codec/file format)
