Feature request : Prowl notifications for DVR events

Please add the ability to send notifications via Prowl when DVR “events” occur. Events I would be interested in include:

Start recording
Successful recording
Failed recording (with reason)
Addition to Plex Library

Receiving events related to the DVR on my phone via Prowl would be great. Having to manually check your server, and dig through the logs to find out that an episode did not record or had an issue is old school (in a bad way.)

Plex is already throwing up “progress/notification” messages at the bottom of the plex server UI, when “events” occur - something started recording, refresh of library, etc. But you have to be watching for them, why couldn’t you hook into the code that is displaying that on screen message and kick off a prowl notification as well?

We live in a connected, mobile, notification driven world. It is time for Plex to stop relying on other programs to accomplish notifications.

Maybe DVR events get included into https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/115002267687-Webhooks going forward.

Maybe, It would be nice if they wrote an app that used web hooks to do this, vs leaving it up to us…

To follow up on this, I have the bachelorette (I know, I know, it’s for my wife) setup to record as a series. Last time I checked the recording schedule on Sunday, it showed it was going to record.

This morning - no recording occurred. And information about what happened is in the black hole that is the plex logs, at least for a normal user. My initial request for events needs to include : recording scheduled, recording canceled apparently…

The DVR is definitely not ready for prime time.
