Feature Request: Read in and allow filtering by photo rating

Use case: Play a shuffled slideshow of all of my photos rated 3 stars or higher
Entrance Criteria: Photos that have star ratings
Additional functionality needed: Read in existing star ratings from file metadata, allow filtering based on star rating for photos
Existing functionality that can be used to support this: The existing filter structure, allowing me to check 3 star, 4 star, 5 star, like I can do in music.

Bonus points: Read in “People Tags” from metadata that are stored separatly from general tags

My use case is that I tag and rate my photos on my phone (using F-stop), since it is less final than deleting the bad ones. So I have thousands of uploaded photos and just a few that I would like to show in Plex. Same tagging and rating is supported by e.g. digiKam (Windows, Linux, etc)

F-stop (Android) has a similar feature called “Smart Albums”.

I’m really interested on the same feature

Count me in… missing this for years ! If you get visitors they aren’t interested in watching thousands of photo’s, you only want them to show your 4 or 5 star rated photo’s.

Hi, yeah! Exactly what @pnicolay said! Plex already reads photo metadata correctly and even allow for filtering by such obscure data as Lens info, why not rating, which is fairly well standardised (at least in XMP: http://u88.n24.queensu.ca/exiftool/forum/index.php?topic=3567.0). Very much needed. Along with setting slideshow pace TBH: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/115764/change-playback-speed-on-photo-slideshow/p2.

Hello!

Please implement this feature. It is very useful and actually really needed for anyone interested in showing photos via Plex.

Thanks,
airflow

Adding a simple rating option for photos (like videos, TV shows and music) would be very helpful as well when managing shared users.
