I've got tons old TV shows and a ton of movies - many of which I won't want to watch for years. In the meantime, those things will be cluttering my Plex views. I know I can sort and filter things, but that involves extra steps. I'd love the ability to Archive content. Just watched Jurassic Park and know you won't want to watch it again until the next Jurassic Park movie comes out? Archive it. Just binged on Breaking Bad? Archive it. With stuff in the Archive, you've still got it in Plex and when you want, you can peruse the Archives to bring some things back whenever you want. I need time to miss and forget about these movies and TV shows for a while. And that means being out of sight. That means being in the Archives :) Here's an example. Breaking Bad. I loved the show from start to finish as did a ton of other people. I look forward to forgetting about what happens and then binging on it again in the future. Trouble is, I can't forget about it. It starts with B. I've got to scroll right bast Breaking Bad to get to most other TV shows. Whenever I see Walt's mug, it brings Breaking Bad into my memory again and I'm just not ready for that. I need away from it to have it drift away to the back of my memory. Maybe I sound crazy.
Maybe you can still sync things that are in the archives, maybe not.
This is just one way of thinking around the issue of having far more things in my library than I know what to do with. Maybe there's a better answer. A master library and the ability to have multiple users? If I want the 5 year old kid in the house to have Plex, I don't want them to be able to navigate to and watch Scarface, you know?
Heck, both of these things are features I'd use, but for the purposes of voting on features, let's just say this post is for the Archives feature.
I love the idea of being able to browse my archives from time to time and unretiring a tv show only to binge on it and throw it back in the archives.
Who's with me??
