Are there any plans to (or workaround that) allow/s non-admin users to set up DVR recordings?
I’m expecting a Homerun Prime to arrive and will be testing out the DVR feature, but would hate to have e my wife ask me every time she’d like something recorded.
In the same vein (I think…), are there any plans to allow multiple servers logged into different Plex accounts in the same Home to use the DVR feature?
Example of what I mean : I have a Plex Pass and access to the DVR feature.
I add a user to my Plex Home so he gets Plex Pass benefits. That user sets up his own server and wants to record shows on his own server.
Since that user is in my home and gets Plex Pass benefits (such as free apps), I expected him to be able to use the DVR feature on his own server without him paying for a Plex Pass, which is not the case currently.
Is there something I am missing and there is already a way to do that or is it something that is considered being implemented?
is there any update on this? i’m the plexpass user, but i’d like my wife to be able to set recordings for her programs. otherwise she either needs to get me to do it, or change over profiles.
i found a bug in the apple tv plex app which makes this worse. you can’t just change the user. you need to exit and terminate the application and relaunch otherwise your identity changes, but your abilities do not. this was very confusing in the start when it looked like she had the ability to record, but got an error message when she did so.
+++bump+++
I hate that my wife and kids have to always ask me to record something for them… now that I finally seem to have gotten the thing to work with DVB-S.
I mean, seriously. it can’t be that hard, can it?
