Just bought a new Smart TV that has two automatic modes, Filmmaker and IMAX Theater. Both modes appear to bear automatic and require some sort of information passing from the content to the TV in order to enable it.
I think it would be great if Plex could start adding this information to the stream to allow these modes to function as intended.

We could start with what kind of Smart TV this is about – the Smart TVs I’m aware of aren’t all that smart but at best do some guess on the underlying aspect ratio of a stream in order to zoom/stretch/… the picture in order to make a good use of their screen estate. At least none of the ones I’ve been dealing with relied on some overhead data provided by apps / streaming boxes / …
LG, Samsung and Hisense along with Sony and Phillips all support Filmmaker Mode. Filmmaker Mode mode works by "disabling all post-processing (e.g. motion smoothing, etc.) and preserving the correct aspect ratios, colors and frame rates, Panasonic, Sony will have models supporting this mode in their 2021-2022 product.
IMAX Mode which is going to start having content via Disney Plus starting tomorrow. Works similarly to Filmmaker Mode.
Both modes can be manually or automatically engaged by the content itself.
