Hi

I only play video on my iPhone/iPad a couple of times a year but I do however play music from them fairly often. It would be nice if I could tell the app to automatically open my music library whenever the app starts.

I know I know, talk about a first world problem, but still. It would be a nice feature I think many would appreciate.

naving plex open to a specific library is what a lot would like to have, as well as a customizable ondeck section.

You didn’t mention which app you’re using, but on Plex Web you can bookmark the library you want to start on. Other apps would require some work.

If using iOS that feature exists. Navigate to the Hamburger Menu top left and select the Library to default on opening. Also you will need to at least once select Library from bottom menu so it remembers or it will still open at recommended.

Hi Plex team,

On the Amazon Fire TV / Firestick app, there is currently no way (that I can find) to define a default view or default page when opening Plex. The app always opens to Home / the recommended-style screen, and then the user has to manually navigate over to their preferred library or view each time.

Feature request:

  • Add an option in the Fire TV / Firestick client settings to choose a default view when the app starts (for example: specific library, Library → Browse tab, Continue Watching, Live TV, etc.).
  • Ideally, this could work similarly to the “remember selected tab” or “default library view = Browse” options that exist on other Plex clients, but with an explicit “Default start page/view” setting instead of only remembering the last tab.
  • If possible, allow this to be set per-user, so different members of a Plex Home can open directly into the view that makes the most sense for them (for example, elderly parents going straight into a Movies library instead of the Home/recommendations screen).

Why this would help:

  • Reduces friction for users who primarily use a single library (e.g., Movies) and just want to see the full library or Browse view right away instead of recommendations.
  • Makes Plex much easier to use for less tech-savvy family members who get confused by multiple tabs and the Home/recommended layout on Fire TV.
  • Aligns the Fire TV experience with customization options that already exist on other platforms, improving consistency across clients.

Current workaround:

Right now, the only option is to manually navigate from Home to the desired library and tab every time the app is opened, which becomes tedious and confusing, especially for shared accounts and family members.

Thank you for considering this. An explicit “default start view” option on the Fire TV / Firestick app would make a big quality-of-life improvement for many users.
