Test Smiley.

Smiley seems to be fixed  I see they added the “emoji” class back to the IMG code

The forum is basically on it’s last legs this morning:

Links busted
Images busted

Edit/Save and all shows up. Reload and all is busted.

Poor.

Come on Plex, someone get this crap fixed already.

Can we get an update on the fix for this? It would be very much appreciated.

@“MovieFan.Plex” @sa2000 @ChuckPA

Hello? hello…hello…hello… Echo! echo…echo…echo… Pinch hitting for Pedro Borbon, Manny Mota! mota…mota…mota…

Geeeesss
This Forum is Plex Customer Service and they cannot even keep it working properly.

Man… what a JOKE!!!

Hey @cayars, you were kind enough to reply to this thread. Can you get an official response from whoever runs the forum? Sure would be nice to know why the forum hasn’t been fixed.

It’s just their commitment to Customer Support that has resulted in such timely repair to the Plex Customer Support System…

LOL

Plex team has said it’s been reported to Vanilla. Standby for an update.

Hey everyone. The issue of participated discussions page not updating read/new status was first identified and reported internally on April 28, 2017 by @“MovieFan.Plex”, looks like the same day this thread was started. Also on the 28th I escalated the issue to our contact at Vanilla Forums. This is being tracked internally by us as well as by Vanilla. The latest update from them is that they have opened up a task for this with their development team to investigate and will keep us posted on the progress. I reached out to them earlier today to see if we could get a status update.

How 'bout the links going belly up?
The You Tube embedder thingy gone bonkers?
Images showing up, then bursting on a reload?

Vanilla is beginning to taste a bit like Skim Water with no Vanilla at all.

lol

@kegobeer-plex and all, I have an update for you from Vanilla regarding this issue. It is currently being worked on and expect to push it to their production by the end of the week. They could punt it to next week if a higher priority issue comes in or if this turns out to be more complex of an issue and needs more time.

It appears those were temporary issues. I just tested them by creating a post with a link, an image, and a Youtube embed and worked fine. Edited the post and everything still showed up as expected.

Just wanted to let you know that we are at the mercy of Vanilla on the time-table for fixing issues regarding this forum, as this is an entirely hosted/managed solution. Having said that, when issues are reported (internally or by users), we file a GHI and CS investigates it. If it turns out legit, I personally escalate it to my contact at Vanilla and we track it together.

I understand that you don’t personally manage the forum or forum software, however if an issue is raised by a user and a thread is made about it, an official comment is pretty much standard. I know that the Plex employees are busy, but responding to posts is kind of their job, so having a thread go without any sort of official response for over a week is not acceptable. It’s even more odd that an employee discovered the same issue and an official post wasn’t made to let users know about it. I hope this kind of forum faux pas can be avoided in the future.

Thanks for the updates, they are very much appreciated.

Yea, now.

From 6AM til 10AM (EST) nothing works. I’ll be sure to let you know.

For sure, this thread should have been updated earlier on since we filed the GHI internally on the same day. A quick acknowledgment seems obvious to me. I’ll make sure we cover that in our next meeting.

What I would really like to know is how an error like this (With vanilla saying they do not know how difficult to fix it will be) EVER got into production??

Especially, since by Plex’s own statement that this is their ONLY and MAIN Customer Support System, how a critical missions system gets past Plex’s acceptance testing??? Seems Vanilla should have rolled this release back as soon as reported until a fix is found, being this is a mission critical system to Plex… Right? You do consider your Customer Support as mission critical??? Wellllll. Maybe Not?

This issue only goes to illustrate Plex’s paying attention to quality and commitment to good Customer Support…

The forum doesn’t go through any sort of “Plex acceptance testing.” We are customers of Vanilla’s product and it is entirely hosted on their platform. When bugs are found in the forum, be it due to a regression caused by Vanilla or something else, they can impact a subset of Vanilla’s client base (if the issue is isolated to a specific node) or they can impact their entire client base. We report issues to vanilla promptly, providing as much detailed information as is available to us. We then track and follow up with our contact at Vanilla. While we can influence the priority they place on the issue, it ultimately is up to them as it is their product.

At present day, this is not the only form of customer support we provide. I invite you to go to our support website to see the available options, which includes a knowledge base of over 500 support articles and step-by-step guides, and an option for billing questions. This forum is, however, the only option to interact with someone else regarding technical support issues. We are working on some support initiatives that will provide users with more options for tech support in the future.

Back to the drawing board - apparently:

The ‘Disappearing Link Bug’ may be a particularly nasty one to squash. You’ll need more than a rolled up newspaper. Try a combat boot. Preferably one NOT on your foot. You don’t want to get that thing mad and have it run up your pant leg.
