FreeBSD - update to PlexMediaServer-1.17.0.1709

Hello -
I recently installed a Plex Server on a stand-alone FreeBSD box (ver 12.0). Ports installed version 1.16.6.1592. When I log into Plex it shows a newer version available to download and install (version 1.17.0.1709).

Of course, this version is not showing as current in ports and when I attempt to do a manual uncompress and copy to the plexmediaserver directory, it does work.

Does anyone have a step guide to perform this binary upgrade?
