Friend can't remove my Plex share

Server Version#: 1.21.0.3711 - Via Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2020
Player Version#: 8.14.1.23548

Greetings. I was trying to share some movies with a friend in another state. He accepted my invite but remained unable to see my files. He’s running Plex on a smart TV with Fire as OS. I then tried adding him as a “Home” user but only shared two directories. He could see everything, not just what I shared, which I don’t want. He was able to logon under my user and I had given him my PIN. He was able to play movies and such. I deleted him from my server via the web interface, both as “friend” and as “home” user.

I signed out of Plex on the web interface and was unable to get back in. I re-started from scratch and changed my PIN. Re-loaded all libraries. NOW whenever he starts Plex he comes right to the logon screen with my “M” symbol so he can’t log on as himself. He does not exist anymore on my side so I can’t remove him if I wanted to. He can’t do anything from that point without restarting his TV, and when he goes back to Plex he still sees my logon icon. He’s deleted cache and data, and totally uninstalled and reinstalled Plex. The problem persists. He won’t re-boot his router as he’s not computer savvy.

I understand that if someone with a Home account accepts another invite to a Home account he will lose the connection to the first. So I’m thinking I’ll fire up Plex on the NAS, add him there, and when he accepts try to delete him from there. Maybe it’s a problem with the Shield PMS.

Any ideas how to refresh his Plex so he can logon as himself? Thanks.

1st: please refrain from double-posting just because you didn’t get an immediate response (therefore I’ll be deleting your original post, given you’ve added an extra paragraph in this new one).

As for the issue at hand… I’m not exactly sure how you maneuvered yourself into that corner. With regards to leaving a Plex Home (=your friend leaving your Plex Home) → take a look at this support article

It sounds a bit like you had been signing in with your account on a device of this friend and the browser was configured to save the login data. If your credentials keep appearing while your friend attempts logging in as him/herself it might help to remove the cached information & password for Plex from this browser.

Well, sorry for the double post, I was hoping adding tags would get more views. He can’t logon as me at this point as I changed the PIN, but he can skip the logon and still use Plex, just not with his logon, he doesn’t use it much so he’s OK with that. I thought of clearing cache and cookies but will wait until his main computer is out of the shop, he’s on an old laptop that barely functions. Once he gets his regular machine back he should be able to input the code from the TV after clearing cache and data on the TV and be good to go. Fingers crossed.
