Greetings. I was trying to share some movies with a friend in another state. He accepted my invite but remained unable to see my files. He’s running Plex on a smart TV with Fire as OS. I then tried adding him as a “Home” user but only shared two directories. He could see everything, not just what I shared, which I don’t want. He was able to logon under my user and I had given him my PIN. He was able to play movies and such. I deleted him from my server via the web interface, both as “friend” and as “home” user.
I signed out of Plex on the web interface and was unable to get back in. I re-started from scratch and changed my PIN. Re-loaded all libraries. NOW whenever he starts Plex he comes right to the logon screen with my “M” symbol so he can’t log on as himself. He does not exist anymore on my side so I can’t remove him if I wanted to. He can’t do anything from that point without restarting his TV, and when he goes back to Plex he still sees my logon icon. He’s deleted cache and data, and totally uninstalled and reinstalled Plex. The problem persists. He won’t re-boot his router as he’s not computer savvy.
I understand that if someone with a Home account accepts another invite to a Home account he will lose the connection to the first. So I’m thinking I’ll fire up Plex on the NAS, add him there, and when he accepts try to delete him from there. Maybe it’s a problem with the Shield PMS.
Any ideas how to refresh his Plex so he can logon as himself? Thanks.
