Getting SD movies to play full screen

Hello all, I am new to Plex and have just built a new Plex server (have PlexPass) and I have added about 135 DVD’s so far. The question is when I play back older DVD’s I get the letterbox effect (black bars all the way around) and the movies do not play full screen. Running the playback through a Firestick. I don’t want to change the aspect ratio but I would like them to fill as much of the screen as possible. Is there a setting I should be enabling to have this work? All new DVD’s and of course Blu Ray’s work fine a fill the screen completely. Thanks
