Since this box won’t be able to play back a media stream with more than 100mbps anyway, what’s the loss?
The 100mbps speed only affects this one wire up to the ethernet switch (for most home users integrated into their router). The rest of the devices in the local network are not affected by this.

I have some movies from a UHD privat tracker that is over 100mbs average bitrate… But i do have a usb to ethernet laying around, does this work on the roku, if so the problem is solved.

well that was a dream crusher… Not really anything i can do. Guess i will have to wait for the 2017 model samsung blu ray player with tizen, so i can use the official plex app… :confused:

got my eyes open for the nvidia shield pro now. Really promising, at least when it comes to sound. But does it support SRT files, thats the biggest question

Pretty sure .srt support is player dependent not hardware dependent. I can’t comment if plex supports them (I imagine it must), as I have everything within a mkv container.

I am pretty sure that SRT files are supported on the Shield.
As long as they are UTF-8 encoded, that is.

Thanks for the answers. Lets hope they dont release a new shield next month. Always happens when i buy new tech stuff…
