You mistake payed products with open source.
There are plenty of open source project where everyone can vote, participate in development, etc. . The Plex guys run a COMPANY for PROFIT. So … if you want to use the service (incl. everything) you might consider paying for it. So the guys from plex can pay their bills too.
In this case we would be paying for a product just to have the opportunity to vote for a feature that may never be implemented.
That’s an expensive gamble.

You can actually do everything but ask it to play. If you use a chrome cast you can say pause the living room tv or what ever your chromecast is named. same with unpause. I’ve never tried to seek that way so I don’t know if that works or not.
I use the live TV DVR to record PBS shows for my toddler. I would love to be able to say “okay Google, play Curious George on Plex on the Living Room Chromecast”. It would be even better if we could specify that we want a random episode.

Just received this email from Google when requesting Plex Integration:
" I’ve just taken a very quick look at the Plex forum and my impression is they’re just not interested in developing the integration some of you would like to see. There’s a long thread titled Google home integration status that clearly shows a lot of Plex users have been requesting this for years.
It appears that the best place to comment and vote for this would be on the Plex website official Feature Request.

Seems the ball is in Plex’s court.
Except it says that it’s reached the voting limit…
It is just you that have reached the voting limit. The forum only allows you to vote on your 5 most important items. After that you have to go back and unvote something if you want to vote for something different.

And for others you can swap out the user name in bold for your own list of votes.

Who sent you that email and do they know what they are talking about?
In other words does he know why Plex said it wasn’t technically possible and can he refute the reason with some kind of facts (like maybe they’ve improved the API since that time or some such)?
