Google TV Streamer was recently introduced as a replacement for a Chromecast for my TV. I have a wide variety of players ranging from my phone to built in apps on the TV to Chromecast and even a Roku device. The only TV oriented device that doesn’t observe unchecking “sign in automatically” in settings is the Google TV Streamer. The reason this is important outside of security is I have a remote capable 6 year-old who should not be able to access content rated above G however I haven’t been able to get the streamer to work in this regard. I thought it might be related to a timeout issue but I’m not sure. I can turn off the TV for 24 hours and turn it back on, click Plex and it doesn’t serve the user sign-on screen, just jumps straight into the home dashboard. The only way I can get it to work is to go into Settings –> Apps –> Plex –> Force Close. At that point the app opens and asks for me to pick my user, then put in my passcode.
