Are there any plans to support H266 (VVC) for the player?

Suspect it will be a while, if at all.

  1. It requires licensing where AV1 does not.
  2. We just completed implementing HEVC encoding
  3. FFMPEG 7.1 is required. We are now upgrading to 6.1

I’m not speaking for the product or engineering teams but suspect you’ll see AV1 / AV2 support before you see VVC. (just an educated guess)
