Halloween movies

Halloween is not far away… can any of you recommend good movies to watch on that day? Some classics I like:

  • The Exorcist
  • Blair Witch
  • The Ring

    Thanks!

Oculus was pretty good.  Sort of predictable but interesting.

Simpsons  :D

Got a bunch of episode targeting that special day

Funny you should ask…I’m looking for some good movies for Halloween myself at the moment.

A couple of friends and I always get together for Halloween, order a bunch of pizzas and have an all-night horror movie marathon.

We always watch Trick ‘r Treat, which I recommend very highly. It’s an anthology of several stories that eventually connect together, and it captures the spirit of Halloween really well.

If anyone has any suggestions for Halloween night movies, I’d love to hear them!

Some ideas for you (I’ve tried to group them in categories, but it’s not a perfect classification):

Afflicted

Oculus
Feast
The Borderlands

Thanks guys! Oculus looks scary, I'll give it a go. And I love me some Treehouse of Horror Simpsons specials!  :D

if I can add to the comedy horror. the Feast triology is hilarious.

I'd like to see David Fincher direct a comedy for once.  :D

In all seriousness though, his thrillers are awesome. I loved Zodiac and Seven.

Many people I know though Zodiac was quite boring, but I thought it was fantastic.

The basement scene in particular was fantastic - incredibly tense and suspenseful.

I absolutely loved Zodiac... it's one of Fincher's best films.

Keep the suggestions coming guys, I'm not completely sure yet what we'll watch on Halloween!

Um. How about "Halloween"?

Zodiac is so great. My grandparent's live around the areas where the movie takes place, and lived firsthand with the fear that was going around at the time. My grandma said she knew a girl who disappeared from the town where Arthur Leigh Allen lived. Always watch it when I'm visiting, for added spooky realism.

Wow. Part of the appeal of that film for me is that it's based on true events, and that the mystery of who the Zodiac killer was is still pretty much unsolved.

I can only imagine what it was like to live in that area around that time - as well as for all of the years afterwards when the killer was still possibly in the area.

Yes it must have been a little unsettling. One time my aunt went on a date with a guy who drove her to Lake Berryessa (where the couple is stabbed during their picnic in the movie). He told her that he was the Zodiac, which obviously freaked her out. The next time the guy came by the house to pick her up, my grandpa chased him off the property.

Spooky stuff. Halloween is this Friday... what have you all decided to do and watch? Are you dressing up and decorating your houses?  :)

I wish this was a bigger event here. There are hardly any parties and people don't go around asking for candy and dressing up.  :(

Any last minute recommendations, guys?

Bump, It’s that time of year again. I’m already watching my Halloween collection - watching Salem’s Lot as I type this. Need some more recommendations… 8-X

Oh yeah… >:)

Ended up watching marathon session of Simpson’s Tree House of Horror and Saw I, II, and III.
And, of course, Halloween.

Happy Halloween

The Simpson’s Treehouse of Horror are always a good choice… true classics!
